Wilbur Ross is no friend to America’s workers and the numbers prove it. Take a look at where Wilbur Ross is responsible for laying off scores of workers — some of whose jobs were in the very same places President Trump has promised to protect and rebuild, and at where Ross is continuing to threaten America’s workers as Commerce Secretary.
Hover to see how many jobs Wilbur Ross’ companies eliminated in your community, and to see how many additional jobs Ross’ Commerce Department is now trying to undermine.
Say no to Wilbur Ross
As Ross touts the work he has done to promote American manufacturing and economic growth, his past shows another story. Wilbur Ross is responsible for laying off thousands of hard-working people while making even more money for himself and his investors.
In communities across 11 states, from the Great Lakes to the Carolinas, Ross assisted in the erosion of American manufacturing and shipped thousands of jobs overseas. In total, over 11,000 workers were laid off at companies Ross controlled, companies off of which Ross and his investors made billions. Despite his rhetoric, his record is clear: Wilbur Ross has lined his pockets at the expense of working people.
Now that he is Commerce Secretary, Wilbur Ross’ department is working behind the scenes to destroy the Economic Development Administration (EDA), which would threaten over 17,000 jobs, while Ross publicly praises the program. Eliminating the EDA would hurt local economies across the country.
